About Erica Orange

…Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, The Future Hunters

Erica Orange

Erica is Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of The Future Hunters, one of the world’s leading futurist consulting firms. She evaluates emerging social, technological, economic, political, demographic and environmental trends—and identifies the strategic implications (the “So what?”) of those trends for several of the most influential Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and public sector clients. Erica’s ability to connect-the-dots, spot patterns, think critically and analytically, and translate that into actionable strategies is what has made her an invaluable asset to clients.

She began her career in the public sector, helping to direct the newly-founded E9-1-1 Institute, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of public safety technology. Through her work, Erica was able to foster support for the organization in the U.S. Congress and various governmental agencies. She then handled business development and media relations for a Washington, DC-based investment promotion firm specializing in economic reconstruction efforts.

Erica has written extensive White Papers on such topics as “The Human/Machine Interface”, “The Future of Family and Household Formation”, and “Climate Change and the Travel & Tourism Industry”. She has lectured on future trends for corporate audiences, universities and trade organizations.

She served on the Career Advisory Board presented by DeVry University, was Chair of the Junior Committee for the National Women’s History Museum, and is a member of the NYC Junior Board for the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. Erica was also chosen as one of the first Susan Schiffer Stautberg Leadership Foundation Fellows. For four years, she served as Co-Chair of the Adjunct Board of Directors for ThinkQuest NYC, an organization that brought technology to New York City students.

Erica Orange received her B.A. in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Rochester (NY).

About Erica’s Programs

Erica frequently speaks to a wide range of audiences about global trends that are shaping the landscape today. She is recognized in the industry as having a unique, innovative and fresh perspective.

The Future Hunters help their clients:
1-Equip themselves with the vision to capitalize on tomorrow’s opportunities;
2-Optimize their sight lines in order to navigate tomorrow’s challenges; and,
3-Arm themselves with the foresight for building tomorrow’s winning strategies

Erica’s presentations:
   *Identify trends that have a direct impact on your business;
   *Let you see how emerging issues affect your business; and,
   *Put change in context so that you can better deal with—and profit from
     it.

Most of the trends she will highlight fall within the four main categories that are part of The Future Hunters’ core ‘Step’ model:
1. *S*ocial trends
2. *T*echnological trends
3. *E*conomic trends
4. *P*olitical trends
In addition, he will discuss two other main topic areas as a complement to the four listed above:
5. Demographic trends
6. Environmental trends

For audiences wanting “general” themes, she will address:
“New & Emerging Trends”
The Future Hunters develop 24 new trend-based themes for their retainer clients every year. These themes are very specific, targeted and interesting.

“The 10 Growth Areas of the Emerging Metaspace Economy”
This speech builds upon the idea that we are currently undergoing a fundamental transformation and restructuring of the global economy. Erica outlines the 10 growth areas of the new economy, and what those mean for client businesses and/or the general public.

“Thinking Technologies”
This talk elaborates on those techniques that will help you think differently about the future. Erica leads audiences on how to permanently change their way of thinking about future trends and to best develop actionable strategies to capitalize on these trends. This talk includes real-world, practical examples of each of the thinking technologies.
